His spirit is rarely broken and he can always find the bright side to any situation. However his youthfulness sometimes causes him to behave brashly and has caused him to get in trouble on occasion.

  APPEARANCE  : Via sports long hair for his age, he claims it's never been cut. He bathes daily and often smells sweetly of honey and lavender on account of the soaps and shampoos he uses.
He's often seen finely attired in shades of yellow and black or white.
Via is shorter than most elezen as he's currently experiencing his elezen growth spurt, it's likely he won't reach his full height for a couple years.

Backstory

Born in Valnain in the nation of Dalmasca eighteen turns ago, Via grew up sheltered and kept from many truths about the Empire and his family's part in their actions.
His father, Lord Judiciaire Botanique, a high ranking politician who aided the Empire in claiming Dalmasca when they first arrived over thirty turns ago, leading with a firm but fair approach.
His mother, Lady Nantisse Botanique, served as a Pilus prior in the IVth Legion, commanding a cohort consisting primarily of mages, she was known for her mercy against her foes without showing weakness. However in a sense to protect Via, she led him to believe she was merely an important trade merchant (which she was prior to joining the military).His childhood was one of luxury and comfort, never wanting for anything. Though he would be naive about many things, his parents instilled a sense of responsibility and kindness within him. His older sister, a soldier in the IVth Legion, would tutor and entertain him when their parents were often busy with their work and the two were often inseparable.Tragedy first struck Via when news arrived shortly after his seventh namesday that his sister had been killed in service.
The once bright boy was inconsolable for many moons before finally coming to terms with his grief. His smile eventually returned and he would carry his sister's memory with him always.Via continued his studies as his parents groomed him to succeed his father as a politician and noble who would lead the Dalmascan people to peace and prosperity under Garlean rule. He was arranged to be married to a prominent Garlean official's daughter by his fifteenth namesday until a civil war broke out in Rabanastre. The response from Garlemald was swift and merciless as word quickly spread of the capital's complete destruction, Via's father informed him that his mother had been in the city when it fell and she was reported missing. The marriage offer was soon rescinded as the Botanique name began to falter.

Without his guiding light, Lord Judiciaire grew cold and cruel, he would rarely share meals with his son and when they sparred, he was relentless. Via soon learned to fake a smile before his father who constantly worried over losing him too, visits from his friends became less frequent and tutors rarely stopped by until eventually Via was left with the estate library as his only friend.Just over a turn ago civil war hit Valnain, a rebellion against the last remnants of the IVth Legion that occupied the city. Nobles who supported them were dragged through the streets and made examples of as the rioters reclaimed their freedom.
Via is reluctant to share his personal experience of what happened, only that his father perished that day and he found himself among refugees bound for Eorzea.Initially hiding his identity for fear of retribution, he decided to go by a nickname his sister gave him, "Via". He would take any odd jobs he could find while he was homeless in the streets of Ul'dah before migrating to the Shroud where he excelled with his extensive knowledge of flora. Finding work as a consultant for the Botanists' Guild, he quickly found himself aiding them as an apiarist and discovering his uncanny knack working with bees.Via pursued education both in Ul'Dah & Ishgard where he would become better acquainted with Eorzea and various other topics that he never knew about back in his sheltered home in Dalmasca. Often coming across as more mature than his older peers due to his refined manners and knowledgeable insights.Having recently celebrated his recent eighteenth namesday, he now finds himself at a crossroads in life. While he enjoys his work with the Botanists' Guild, he finds himself wanting to reclaim his family name and restore what was taken from him, but lacks the funds, connections and ability to do so.

The Bees and the Bees
Via is obsessed with bees of all sorts and is the Botanist Guild's go-to expert on the subject, which causes him to travel all over the realm and beyond.
Not a fan of the technical side of things, he claims to "listen to what the bees want" on what types of flowers work best for the best pollinators rather than explaining his process.
Talk to him about bees or honey and you're guaranteed to have his undivided interest, stopping whatever he was in the middle of doing, regardless of importance.A Friend Indeed
Via is likely to jump at the chance to help someone in need of assistance. If he spots someone in trouble, he's more than likely to come to their aid, whether it be needing help deciding which colour works for an outfit or just chatting to someone who looks lonely, Via is there to lend a hand.

Backstory

Aravae was born in nobility to a father that was a high ranking Dalmascan politician supporting Garlean ideals and a mother who ran a trade empire before she joined the military. She entered the IVth Legion when she was fifteen to escape an arranged marriage, serving its mage division before being recruited as a spy and assassin, after ten turns of serving, her death was faked even to her own family and she became a spymaster, operating in complete anonymity, taking on the alias "Lightning Death".When Dalmasca rebelled after the liberation of Doma and Ala Mhigo, the Garlean Empire destroyed their capital city of Rabanastre. Aravae was there firsthand to witness the devastation as she discovered her mother had been caught up in the destruction where she had been attempting to save civilians. Once emotionless, hardened from over a decade of death, this sparked a wrath in Aravae that caused her to defect from the Empire and attempt to kill her commanding officer, Sadr rem Albeleo, only for the man to torment and torture her, leaving her for dead.

If not for the graciousness of a passing humanitarian, Aravae would have perished. She went into hiding in Thavnair under their protection as they helped nurse her back to health.Aravae is reluctant to share details on what transpired between her attack and her arrival in Eorzea.
Now thirty-two, she notes that she has business keeping her tied to Eorzea for the present moment, she frequently travels between Ul'dah, the Shroud and Ishgard, speaking with locals and gathering intel.

Lightning Death
Aravae was infamous within the IVth Legion where she went by the moniker of "Lightning Death", a bogeyman known for killing prominent officials on both sides of the war. She's more likely to be recognised by anyone who was assigned as a frumentarii or in a mage squadron within the IVth Legion, having served for over ten years.Dalmascan Nobility?
Those who travelled in high society circles within Dalmasca and perhaps beyond may be familiar with Aravae Botanique, the daughter of a high ranking politician and she's the spitting image. However by all accounts she died over ten years ago.Hidden Eyes

  PERSONALITY  : If there's one thing that describes Lavender, it's their silence. Almost exclusively communicating with hand gestures, head movements and on the rare occasion Pictomancy, they can be difficult to speak with at times. Due to an extreme form of anxiety and shyness, Lavender prefers to keep quiet and let others do the talking until they feel more comfortable.
The one exception to this is if they consider it vital to perform their job or in times of great need, such as an emergency.They otherwise adore all forms of life, to them, everything can be considered beautiful in the right perspective. They abhor anyone putting themselves down and strive to keep a smile on everyone's faces.
Lavender is also incredibly mischievous and will leap at the opportunity to play a prank or harmlessly trick someone.

Their name and skill is renowned especially among the highborns of Ishgard and the merchant lords of Hingashi.Hannish Healers
Lavender's family are notable in Radz-at-Han for their history of medical service, their parents are well known doctors who have even visited the Satrap on a handful of occasions. Most alchemists and medics from Rad-at-Han would likely have met a member of Lavender's family at some stage. Lavender would welcome anyone from their home more easily than a complete stranger.

Backstory

Rhiallia was found abandoned in the streets of the Brume as a baby, her cries were heard by a priest who had been carrying out humanitarian work and took mercy upon her. Rather than take her to one of the Brume's many overcrowded orphanages, he made the decision to give her a better life, raising her among the clergy instead.She studied at Saint Endalim's Scholasticate where she would often exceed expectations, often passing tests with full marks. However this slighted her more noble peers who, rather than praise her, would mock and belittle her in their jealousy. This only served to motivate her further, it gave her great pleasure to both be a low-born and woman in a noble patriarchal society.Rhiallia would occasionally train alongside the temple knights, honing her combat skills as they patrolled the city. A chance encounter with a street urchin her age named Jah, quickly grew into a lifelong friendship. Swearing to never let him fall behind and wanting to give him a better future, she tutored him. Jah showed more street smarts, while she had the book smarts. Together they were unstoppable.Graduating top of her class, she soon caught the eye of the Archbishop himself, who recruited her into the ranks of the Inquisition. At her own personal request, Jah soon followed. The two of them often handled threats of heretics within the Brume and lower class districts where insurgency was often prevalent. Soon earning her the moniker "of the Blinding Sight" for her penchant for blinding heretics, if they lived at all.When the Steps of Faith were beset, Rhiallia stood in the Pillars as a last line of defence, sometimes considered a coward for not being on the front lines despite her orders. She believes that if even one dragon had slipped past, then all would have been lost if she had not been there, a contingency.

Barely a full turn had passed since being appointed as an Inquisitor when the truth of the Dragonsong War came to light and the death of the Archbishop soon followed. Despite always being a more open-minded Inquisitor, even Rhiallia struggle to reconcile the news, blaming the Warrior of Light for leaving Ishgard's thousand year history in shambles before leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces.Rhiallia has since had to adapt to the changing tide as many Inquisitors were slain or removed from their positions as the corruption within their ranks was revealed. She had been aware how bad things were, but knew there was little one woman could do to change things. Yet the public did not care, branding her a traitor to her nation regardless. Unbothered, she continued on as the clergy lost control of the Temple Knights to the new governance of the House of Lords & House of Commons, until their power dwindled to little more than a small private army.Still an Inquisitor, yet holding next to no influence within the city, she was assigned as an envoy to conduct investigations of dark magic, defusing hostility against the Holy See and keeping the peace. Her assignments included accompanying Temple Knights to some of the most lawless parts of the Brume where she would carry out justice on the most heinous criminals to visiting an Ishgardian Knight Academy to investigate reports of blasphemy and better educate students on discipline and respect.Most recently, she has been assigned to work with the Eorzean Alliance in an exchange of cultural and military techniques, accompanying members of the Grand Companies and local militia in their nations to impart combat strategies, accompany patrols and investigate reports of forbidden magics.

Kind to Kids & Those in Need
Rhiallia has been known to assist in the Brume providing warm food, basic medical assistance, entertaining children and patrolling the streets even in her off-time. Many locals speak of her fondly and report that she makes them feel safe.Of the Blinding Sight
For as many who speak of her kind deeds, there are those who speak of the cruel Inquisitor who tore their lives apart when she declared a friend or loved one a heretic before permanently blinding them, if not torturing them to death. Presented evidence frequently proved her accusations correct, revealing heinous crimes against spouses, children and innocent civilians. Yet the bitterness remains, she carries her title with pride, knowing she is justified in her actions.
